More wasted money? Buried in Trump's gigantic, ugly law was a transfer of the space shuttle Discovery from the Smithsonian's air and space collection to Houston. The Smithsonian claims ownership but also points out that transference for the shuttle will irrevocably damage the craft and cost far more than was budgeted..The ability to fly the shuttles on top of 747s was retired along with the shuttle missions so there is no pathway through the air. Roads would be closed from Arlington to Houston. Buildings and trees would be removed leaving a scar across half the country. And then a new building would have to be built around it. But hey, Cornyn and Cruz have to get reelected somehow. [Space]

A little closer to home, or at least my hometown, a GOP Representative foolishly held a town hall. This is deeply red country. And oh did they ever turn against him and it's all about Trump. In a year the smart Republicans will be running against Trump with no fear of being primaried. The constituents weren't satisfied with the town hall. They showed up at his house (three minutes from where I grew up) with a makeshift coffin. The shaken Rep. didn't respond to their concerns. He was worried about what the children in the neighborhood would think about the cardboard coffin. Has he met children? He voted to take food out of their mouths, vaccines out of their bodies, a cut in education. He doesn't give a damn about children. [WISN]
