Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Jun. 30

 Here are today's contestants:

- Eileen Darragh, a teacher from Cincinnati, Ohio;

- Dave McBride, a compliance consultant from Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; and

- Klay Frappier, an accountant originally from McHenry, North Dakota. Klay is a one-day champ with winnings of $20,001.

Jeopardy!

CHINESE HISTORY // DECIPHERING THE PHRASE // MEMORABLE COMMERCIALS // BOOKS FOR YOUNGER READERS // ACC! ACC! // EMOTING FOR MY EMMY

DD1 - $600 - CHINESE HISTORY - Like events 70 years later, in 1919 student demonstrators took control of this plaza to protest government actions (Klay added $2,000 to his leading score of $6,400.)

Scores at first break: Klay $4,000, Dave $1,600, Eileen $2,200.

Scores entering DJ: Klay $9,200, Dave $1,400, Eileen $2,200.

Double Jeopardy!

WHAT'S THAT CALLED? // SCIENCE STUFF // TRAINS & THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM // 18th CENTURY ARTS // THE TITLE'S NOT IN THE LYRICS // NO MAN'S LAND

DD2 - $1,600 - SCIENCE STUFF - Immunoglobulins is another word for these, produced in the body to fight foreign invaders (Dave dropped $3,600 from his total of $6,600 vs. $10,000 for Klay.)

DD3 - $800 - NO MAN'S LAND - Westernmost of the prairie provinces, it was named for the wife of the Marquess of Lorne, a Canadian governor general (Eileen lost $1,800 on a true DD.)

Dave missed a chance to take first place from Klay when he was incorrect on DD2, but then managed to make a comeback and take a slight advantage into FJ at $12,200 vs. $11,200 for Klay and $800 for Eileen.

Final Jeopardy!

THE SUPREME COURT - In this case, "our consideration is limited to the present circumstances" about "equal protection in election processes"

Only Dave was correct on FJ, adding $10,201 to win with $22,401. There have now been twelve straight one-day champs, one short of the record.

Final scores: Klay $10,199, Dave $22.401, Eileen $1.

Judging the writers: It's very funny that they think knowing a Doja Cat song title from 2023 is worth $400, but Green Day, whose hit "Basket Case" has been in constant radio rotation for 30 years, is worth $2,000.

Triple Stumper of the day: No one figured out that a "place to play baseball located within the untrimmed grass off the golf fairway" is diamond in the rough.

Correct Qs: DD1 - What is Tiananmen Square? DD2 - What are antibodies? DD3 - What is Alberta? FJ - What is Bush v. Gore?
