What's On Tonight (Sunday): Excuse me Miss

Miss Austen

May the Force be with us! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, May 4!

Our Top Pick tonight is the premiere of Miss Austen (PBS, 9 p.m.). This four-part series is a dramatization of the Austen family, exploring why Jane Austen's (Patsy Ferran) sister Cassandra (Keeley Hawes, SynnΓΈve Karlsen) burnt most of Jane's personal letters after her death. She was only 41 when she died. I expect some good costuming, which is enough to get my attention. Alfred Enoch, Rose Leslie, and Max Irons also star.

Elsewhere, Conan O'Brien is awarded for humor, the Equalizer equalizes one final time, the last Last Anniversary is had, the Righteous Gemstones have their benediction, Patton Oswalt Suits up, we go to the Underworld of a galaxy far far away, a Simpson gets involved with the mob, and the Dead City is Walking.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Gracenote.)
