| Roseanne / The Conners |
Dan!! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, April 23!
Our Top Pick tonight is the series finale of The Conners (ABC, 8 & 8:30 p.m. / Hulu, Thursday). It's been 7 seasons since the show spun off from the toxic ashes of Roseanne. Honestly, I think it became a better show because it put better focus on Becky and Darlene rather than Dan and Roseanne, who weren't as interesting 20 years later. The show has had its growing pains with a large ensemble of supporting characters that didn't always get deep development. Even DJ didn't make the cut. The Conners never reached the heights of its parent show's glory days, but it was a solidly reliable '20s network sitcom. I'll always have a deep, deep nostalgia for the Conner family.
