beware of Harlan Crow

We have plenty of migration going on and I'm not talking about the Canadian geese flying north to shit on us. We have people all over the world migrating in an attempt for a better life for their families. Most religions include some sort of imperative to take in and take care of the stranger. That's pretty rare on the ground these days. The United States is big enough and complicated enough that those strangers can be your next door neighbors. It is shameful that we cannot recognize this. I know that this is Christian specific and maybe Islamic but the parable of the Good Samaritan instructs us not to behave like we do. I do know that within Islam and Judaism, hospitality is a holy bond. It's not spelled out the same in Christianity but it amounts to the same thing.
The US is specifically a non-religious country (shut up Christian nationalists, you have no power here!) but we have always taken religion into account. When our three most popular religions, the others teach respect (yes, even and especially the Satanists) and nearly all of out country condemn what's happening we need to step back and ask how and why.
We've lost our direction to the point that we are now causing internal migration. [Guardian]
