Our Top Pick tonight is The Americas (NBC, 8 p.m. / Peacock, Monday). This Tom Hanks-narrated nature series features an assortment of wildlife from across North and South America in each episode. It's brevity in noting a few species in an environment and then a short narrative doesn't offer any meaningful depth, but it might satisfy the casual viewer. With footage from BBC Studios Natural History Unit, I find it pretty disappointing and largely ignores the current upheavals in nature thanks to human activity.
