DD3 - $2,000 - FRENCH CROSSWORD CLUES - Absolutely required by current fashion if you want to be au courant (2 letters & 7 letters) (Very late in the round, Chris tried to make a move from third place but lost $6,000.)
Chris made a bid to get within one-half of Mikey's score on DD3 but missed, so the game was between Mikey and Paul into FJ with Mikey at $20,200, Paul with $11,000 and Chris at $1,600.
Final Jeopardy!
SPORTS AND THE CITY - At 800 West Main & 700 Central in this city are a company & a venue both involved in Triple Crowns
Only Chris was correct on FJ. Mikey dropped $2,000 to win with $18,200.
Final scores: Paul $0, Mikey $18,200, Chris $1,600.
Clue selection strategy: With DD3 remaining and only one larger-value clue left on the board, the players chose four clues from the top two rows before it was found under the $2,000 clue.
Wagering strategy: Even though the big bet by Chris on DD3 didn't work out, it was absolutely the right move. If he had been correct on DD3 it would have put him in a winning position when Chris got FJ and both opponents missed.
Correct Qs: DD1 - What is South Sudan? DD2 - What is cello? DD3 - What is de rigueur? FJ - What is Louisville?
