Greg had another strong first round, then Sam rallied to take a small lead but had a setback on DD2, after which Greg drew away into FJ at $23,000 vs. $13,000 for Sam and $6,600 for Julie.

Only Greg was correct on FJ, adding $3,001 to win with $26,001 for a two-day total of $50,002.

Triple Stumper of the day: No one could identify the machine with a scooping device that's used to deepen harbors and waterways, which is also a cooking term, a dredge.


Clue selection strategy: in third place late in DJ and in need of a double-up with DD3 on the board, Julie chose a top-row clue. Greg then gained control and immediately went to a $1,600 clue to find DD3, helping him secure the lead.
