Where do we begin? We've got a lot of variations on the same story. Let's start with Texas so I don't have put up an obnoxious photo on the front page. The US Supremes turned back an appeal of the Texas abortion ban. The Biden administration wanted to apply EMTALA in Texas like everywhere else in the country. Texas is now officially the only state where doctors have no protection if they perform a medically necessary abortion. As long as Ken Paxton is Attorney General there will be almost zero medically necessary abortions performed. Childbirth mortality will continue to rise and infant mortality will continue to rise. I'm disappointed that the three liberal justices did not note any dissent. [Associated Press]
