What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Video Music goes over the hill

MTV Video Music Awards

Never forget! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, September 11!

Our Top Pick tonight is the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV & most Paramount Global networks / Paramount+, Thursday-ish), the awards 40th celebration. Somehow, much like America's Funniest Home Videos and This Old House, this annual program still manages to exists. The Swifties could have a big night tonight. I'm more interested in a few of the musical performances, such as Chappell Roan, GloRilla, and Lenny Kravitz. In Paramount's infinite wisdom, the show isn't live-streaming on Paramount+.

Elsewhere, Seth Meyers has a primetime Look, Slow Horses make progress, Tell Me Lies baits, there's Talent in Pasadena, and the Ark manages diplomacy.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)

πŸŽ₯ Technoboys (Netflix, 3 a.m.): "Twenty years after topping charts, Technoboys reunite to reclaim the pop throne but must battle newer groups in a changed music world. The lead singer has hidden motives to return." Normally I'd ignore this title because it's a Mexican movie, but it has Karla Souza. Love is enough. Hashtag bring back Home Economics!

Tell Me Lies (Hulu, midnight): Stephen baits Lucy as she attempts to rid herself of him once and for all. Also, Wrigley and Pippa finally talk.
