What's On Tonight (Sunday): Peak season

The Summit

D'oh! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, September 29!

Our Top Pick tonight is the special premiere of The Summit (CBS, 9 p.m. / Paramount+, Monday). Hosted by Manu Bennett, this latest reality competition program finds 16 contestants trying to climb a mountain in New Zealand to win/share a $1 million prize. Adapted from an Australian show, it sounds like a mix of The Amazing Race, Survivor, The Traitors, etc. with voting one another off, demanding physical challenges, and the possibility that the final prize gets smaller. (The show will air Wednesdays.)

ElsewhereThe Simpsons turn 36, America's Funniest turns 35, 60 is back to 90, Krapopolis is still a thing, Daryl finds Carol, Burgers saves the local media, Oprah Shaped Our Culture, and Industry preps a new era, Witches convene over Nat Geo, and Pumpkins are still Outrageous.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)
