What's On Tonight (Saturday): News is the news

Have I Got News for You (UK version)

Say what! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, September 14!

Our Top Pick tonight is the premiere of Have I Got News for You (CNN / Max, Sunday). This is CNN's first big step into comedy programming since D. L. Hughley Breaks the News, a show that I don't think anyone but me remembers. Anyone remember Colin Quinn's CNN special back in 2019ish? Have I Got News for You is an adaptation of the U.K.'s long-running panel show that is mildly amusing but I rarely know much, if anything, about the subject under discussion. Roy Wood Jr. hosts this U.S. version with Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black as the two team captains.

Elsewhere, the Creative Emmys are awarded, sportsballs dominate broadcast TV, all the Civil Wars on cable, Hallmark needs a Hand, Johnson goes fast, and One Piece brings all the Navy soldiers to the yard.
