What's On Tonight (Sunday): Return to the City

City of God: The Fight Rages On

Nants ingonyama bagithi baba! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, August 25!

Our Top Pick tonight is City of God: The Fight Rages On (HBO Latino & Max, 8 p.m.). This TV sequel to Brazil's landmark film City of God follows up on Rocket, now Wilson but still played by Alexandre Rodrigues. The narrator of the original film, he achieved his goal of being a photojournalist, and here he returns to the favela to document the cartels, police, politicians, and daily life.

Elsewhere, the Echoes are over, Snowpiercer needs samples, PETA investigates the Chimp, DILFs get Deadly, Ol' Dirty Bastard gets documentary treatment and Ocean Park releases secrets.

SEAL Team (Paramount+, 3 a.m.): BRAVO targets a factory in Myanmar that's tied to China and fentanyl production. Lieutenant Davis wants the team to pull intel and destroy the plant.

Serengeti III (Discovery+, 3 a.m.): SEASON PREMIERE. I don't think this nature series' latest season has been released on any other WBD platform prior, so premiering this on Discovery+ is odd. I assume Lupita Nyong'o is still narrating. She does a good job. The series itself is terrible. So much manipulative editing and excessively dramatic arcs.

Snowpiercer (AMC+, 3 a.m. & AMC, 9 p.m.): Nima needs more samples for his experiments, so Milius sends Wilford and the soldiers to collect. Privately, Milius tells Wolf to kill Wilford. Layton wakes up on an abandoned floor and is approached by humans with toxic gas scars.
