Rick & Morty: The Anime

I don't know what to make of today's Top Pick, Rick and Morty: The Anime.  It seemingly has no connection to the original series other than the characters.  Different writers, different directors, different actors.  I'll check it out because I'm a big fan of the original series and I'm curious.

*Max is having a pretty great Friday.  Not only do they have the streaming premiere of today's Top Pick tomorrow, but they also have the streaming premieres of Furiosa and Civil War.  I'm not sure who would get the cover of the HBO Guide this week, but both movies would at least get the extended 1980s HBO intro (sorry Rick and Morty, I don't think they ran the intro for series).

*Hulu sees Max's Furiosa and Civil War and responds with a Sydney Sweeney "nun-impregnated-by-the-devil" movie, Immaculate.  I'm pretty sure Max is the winner here, but never underestimate the allure of nunsploitation.  Especially when the basic concept of the movie implies someone is getting laid at some point.

*Remember earlier this year when Mark Wahlberg played a suburban dad who had secretly been a super spy back in the day?  Of course you don't.  Why would you?  So, it totally won't affect your viewing experience with Wahlberg's new Netflix movie where he plays a regular guy whose ex-girlfriend, played by Halle Berry, is a super spy now in the present and turns him into one too.  Watch it now so you can forget about it before Wahlberg's next "something to do with spies" flick.
