What's On Tonight (Thursday): Taking this to the Next Level

Tonight's Top Pick is the third season finale of Next Level Chef, continuing a trend of season and series finales on Thursdays all the way through May. It's kind of funny how that happens sometimes.


While I channel my new urge to work in a high pressure kitchen, let's see what else TV has to offer us for Thursday, May 9. All times are EST.


STREAMING
Black Twitter: A People's History, 12:01 a.m., Hulu. Premiere. "Based on Jason Parham's WIRED cover story,' A People's History of Black Twitter,' this three-part docuseries charts the rise, movements, voices and memes that made Black Twitter an influential and dominant force in nearly every aspect of American political and cultural life." Three episodes available.

The Goat, 12:01 a.m., Hulu. Series premiere. "Fourteen reality superstars, from Bachelorettes to Housewives to Survivors to Drag Racers and everyone in between, move into GOAT Manor under the watchful eye of host Daniel Tosh to compete in over 20 challenges, earning and breaking one another's trust along the way. New sides of longtime favorites will be on display as they battle it out for $200k and the title of Greatest of All Time." Three episodes available, followed by one per week through Thursday, June 27.

The Deadly Getaway, 3:01 a.m., BET+. Premiere. "Tells the story of an upwardly mobile couple traveling to a glamorous campsite destination for a romantic weekend getaway that quickly turns nightmarish. Jacob plans to propose to his girlfriend of two years, Hope, but the arrival of her obsessive ex-boyfriend, Derrick, and his girlfriend, Jada complicates things."

Mother of the Bride, 3:01 a.m., Netflix. Premiere. "Stunned by her daughter's bombshell wedding announcement, Lana (Brooke Shields) soon faces another shock: the groom's father (Benjamin Bratt) is the man who broke her heart years ago." Costarring Miranda Cosgrove and Chad Michael Murray.

The Guardian of the Monarchs, 3:01 a.m., Netflix. Premiere. "The forests of Michoacán are home to millions of monarch butterflies. Activist Homero Gómez was highly vocal about its preservation – and then he vanished."

Bodkin, 3:01 a.m., Netflix. Series premiere. "In this darkly comedic thriller, a crew of podcasters sets out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in an idyllic Irish town." Seven episodes available.

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, 3:01 a.m., Max. Second season finale. "The girls are facing a fate worse than death, summer school. Millwood High isn't the only thing killing the buzz, there's a new horror villain in town." Two episodes available, followed by one per week through Thursday, June 20.

Hacks, 3:01 a.m., Max. "After learning there's a Late Night vacancy, Deborah makes sure everything - and everyone - is operating at its finest for her roast."
