Late Night with the Devil

Nothing makes me want to subscribe to Shudder more than seeing the film premieres they have every Friday.  They may not be 100% consistent, but they seem a lot more so than many of the other streamers.  Today they are giving us the streaming premiere of Late Night with the Devil starring David Dastmalchian.  The two directors don't have much on their resume, but this should help launch them to a higher tier.

*Zack Snyder returns today with Rebel Moon - Part 2: The Scargiver, a sequel to Snyder's worst reviewed film (yes, worse than Sucker Punch).  I'm a big old sci-fi guy, so it's kind of nuts that not only have I not seen the first one, but I also don't have much interest in watching it.  There's only so many slo-mo fight scenes I can take.  I'll get around to it at some point when I have nothing else to watch or I need background noise while folding laundry.

*A few weeks ago, we saw the premiere of a new series starring Derry Girls alum Louisa Harland.  Today we get another Derry Girls actress, Nicola Coughlan, starring in Big Mood on Tubi.  I don't really have much interest in this series, but I am always happy to see actors I like continuing to get work.  I just need new shows from Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Jamie-Lee O'Donnell and I'll have the complete set.

*Roku has a new adaptation of The Spiderwick Chronicles debuting today.  The biggest name in the cast is Christian Slater, and from the trailer, it looks like he's having fun playing the big bad.  I don't know if it will be enough to make people forget the 2008 film.  Just kidding, no one remembers the 2008 film.
