Today's drink is the classic 19th century New York Sour. It kind of looks like a dessert, like that's a layer of raspberry jelly atop some custard.
Ingredients
- 3/4ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 3/4ounce simple syrup (1 part white sugar to 1 part water by weight)
- 2ounces bourbon
- 1ounce red wine
Preparation
1.Add lemon, simple syrup and bourbon into a cocktail shaker with 5 to 7 ice cubes.
2.Put the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for approximately 7 seconds.
3.Remove the lid and strain contents into a rocks glass filled with ice.
4.Drizzle the red wine slowly off the back of a spoon to create a perfect layer on top of the cocktail.
