I should be in Luanda, Angola today. This should be interesting. I often say that I learned geography from the evening news and this was certainly true for the Middle East and Southeast Asia. But I also had a globe and an atlas. And occasionally other countries would make the news and one of them was Angola. There was a civil war and we didn't seem to want either side to win. I'm guessing that I'll be getting the winners side of the story mixed in with seeing Colonial remnants. Otherwise it looks like another big city on the water. The US and Angola are supposed to be drawing closer. We'll see what that means.
