Allons-y! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, February 18!
Our Top Pick tonight is the 77th British Academy Film Awards (BritBox, 2 p.m.). I'm feeling rebellious, breaking my own WOT rules for this Top Pick, which streams live dayside rather than "tonight." David Tennant hosts this year's film BAFTA, which awards the best cinema from Britain and internationally. For Best Film, coming into the early 2010s, the BAFTAs felt like Oscar precognition with many repeating winners, then after 2014, it split. Since then, only Nomadland has copied. And that kinda makes me like it more. I'm seeing an Oscar alternative, not a predictor. But for acting, the two frequently align.
Elsewhere, CSI: Vegas still exists, Monsieur Spade solves the case, John Oliver recaps Last Week, McCall Equalizes again, The Simpsons go state-of-the-art, Jake Tapper reveals Scandals, Weather goes to the Timber, the People's Choice reminds us that maybe not every should vote, and True Detective will not be proven false.

Monsieur Spade (Acorn TV & AMC+, 3 a.m., & AMC, 9 p.m.): SEASON FINALE. Spade discovers who has been following him. Philippe sets up a deal for the boy that quickly goes sideways, leading to a dangerous confrontation on the old town bridge. A mysterious newcomer arrives, uncovering secret identities and agendas.
🎥 Romance in Hawaii (UPtv, 7 p.m.): Leah, a successful but dissatisfied executive, discovers the missing passion from her life when she starts taking hula dance lessons from handsome local Ikaika.

🎥 The Man in the Guesthouse (Lifetime): When a young couple find someone to rent out their converted garage, they're happy to have an additional source of income. They soon realize that their lodger may not be the dream tenant they thought he was.
The Simpsons (Fox / Hulu, Monday): Professor Frink secretly helps Homer land a high-level position at a state-of-the-art nuclear plant. Since Homer lacks the skills to actually perform the job, Frink comes to fear he's created a monster.
