It's a Monday and Christmas. I'm banking on nothing happening. I wouldn't be surprised if one or another war flared up. If nothing else all the kids will fight over their toys which is your reward for going out of your way and paying too much for them.

This is where I apologize because we had news anyway. Not that most of you will notice, passed out from either eggnog or turkey. Or maybe it was simple gluttony or chasing after the kids. I hope you're done with your dinner now. Russian dissident Alexei Navalny who "disappeared", which is a ridiculous thing because when you are in Russian custody they know exactly where you are, was "found". It was a good thing that he was not found on or below a balcony or at a tea party. He was found at a labor camp in Siberia. He might have wished for a balcony. [Reuters]

The war in Gaza is going badly. If you're rooting for one side or another you're doing it wrong. It's just death upon death. If you want to feel good because your side inflicted pain on the other then you might want to check your motivations.  [CNN]
