The US is the only country that vetoed the UN call for an immediate ceasefire. The UK abstained. The US position is that Israel should kill Palestinians more slowly and allow some aid into the bombing zone - which is now all of Gaza. The US correctly points out that Hamas has no interest in stopping. What we are not pointing out is that Netanyahu and his far right cronies have no interest in peace either. Both governments are unpopular with their people. [Associated Press]

Kate Cox left Texas to abort her unviable fetus after the Texas Supreme Court gave her no hope. She's a mother who wanted another baby and is concerned that if she carries this fetus to term that her health will suffer and she may never have another baby. It shouldn't be this way, but the most important thing is that she's a suburban white lady. Texas is just that much more purple today than it was yesterday. If the Republicans lose the suburbs they are done. [CBS]

In declining to hear the case, the US Supreme Court has allowed states to ban conversion therapy in which kids are tortured into becoming "straight". It causes tremendous mental health damage and often leads to suicide. If you want to watch a happier version of it watch Because I'm a Cheerleader.

Wisconsin Senate Majority leader Devin LaMahieu is keeping a false Elector on the elections commission. The false Electors have conceded that Biden won the race and promised not to be Electors in the 2024 election or any election that Trump is in. [Associated Press]
