What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Highway to the danger zone nears twilight

Archer

Putting right what once went wrong! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, October 4!

Our Top Pick tonight is the penultimate episode of Archer (FXX, 10 p.m.). This adult animated comedy has been on the air for 14 seasons and 2 networks. I'm sure some people are still watching this espionage series with its cast of dysfunctional colleagues. I loved it in its heyday, those first 4 seasons. I bailed 1 episode into the Danger Island dream season. The show will certainly stand out in history with its limited animation and rapid-fire dialogue. It garnered 2 Emmys, one competitively for Animated Program ("The Figgis Agency"). Voice actors H. Jon Benjamin and the late Jessica Walter have been nominated, too.

Elsewhere, Lea Thompson is a SisterChucky returns, Star Trek takes its last Very Short Trek, Maggie Sullivan is at a Crossing, grasslands have Evolution, Ben is back to Leaping, Chessy plays Jeopardy!, Nova tackles why the sky is blue, SurrealEstate has new houses with spooks, and Colbert welcomes Japanese Breakfast.
