What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Evolution so observable even a cave chimp can see it

Evolution Earth

Hi! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, September 20!

Our Top Pick tonight is the excellent docuseries Evolution Earth (PBS, 10 p.m.). A sudden evolutionary jump isn't what is causing the chaos on The Swarm, but nature is capable of it, as this series is showing. Cave chimps -- chimps that chill in caves during the hottest part of the day -- is a behavior that's only existed for a few years (and runs completely counter to chimps' evolution). Iguanas in the Galapagos shrinking, crickets in Hawaii no longer chirping, humpbacks eating salmon, and sea lions eating tuna are some of the recent changes observed in the animal kingdom as a means to survive as the climate changes.

Elsewhere, Discovery gets Naked, MasterChef finds a new master, American Horror Story is still a thing, The Morning Show enters negotiations, Reservation Dogs and Physical are on their penultimate episodes, Apple documents '90s Super Models, and Archer misses vacation.
