Tiny Toons Looniversity |
I was in high school by the time Tiny Toon Adventures premiered. I watched anyway because I love cartoons, I love the Looney Toons, and the show was genuinely funny and clever. It was eventually overshadowed by Animaniacs and kind of forgotten about, but this week Max has brought back seemingly all of the original characters after almost 30 years for a follow up series.
As far as I can tell, none of the Tiny Toon characters have appeared in anything since the original series. The show itself seemed to pop up every now and then on some obscure cable channel desperate for cheap children's programming. It seems like an odd show to bring back, but nostalgia is a hell of a drug. I know where I'll be getting my fix this weekend.

Elsewhere...
*You know what never gives me confidence in a new movie? When I can't find an actual trailer for the movie the day before it premieres. How to Date Billy Walsh, I'm looking at you.
*Netflix has a new Pokemon series titled Pokemon: To Be a Pokemon Master: Ultimate Journeys: The Series. That's more colons than the average gastroenterologist sees in a week.
*Tubi has a new action film that... actually looks pretty good? At least compared with their normal fare. I can't recommend it though as I can find absolutely no information on the film outside of the trailer. It doesn't help that it has about the most generic title possible (The Vigilante), and the story is yet another "girl needs to be rescued after being abducted by human traffickers," but the action actually looks potentially competent. It is almost certainly garbage, but I can't help but be intrigued. Is Tubi going all respectable on us?
*Apple has a new series called The Changeling. This is not an adaptation of the 2008 Anglina Jolie film, nor is it an update on the 1980 George C. Scott film, but now I want a series that is a mash up of those two movies.
