What's On Tonight (Sunday): Winter King is coming

The Winter King

Hello guy and gals and non-binary pals! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, August 20!

Our Top Pick tonight is the series premiere of The Winter King (MGM+, 9 p.m.). Based on the '90s Warlord Chronicles novels, the British series — which hasn't been released in Britain yet — is a mix of historical fiction and a retelling of Arthurian legend with Fitz Iain De Caestecker as King Arthur, who is a banish warlord and illegitimate son to Uther. The series is told/narrated by a monk to a young queen long after Arthur's death.

Elsewhere, Tubi enters Doomsday, a baby Calls the Heart late, Morgan Freeman gives 761st Tank Battalion documentary treatment, San Francisco has SoundsRaven's garage has a sale, Daveed Diggs gets Wild, and the '70s were also a Winning Time.
