What's On Tonight (Sunday): Back in the line of duty

Ridley

Legen — wait for it — dary! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, July 16!

Our Top Pick tonight is Ridley (PBS, 8 p.m.). The crime drama follows Alex Ridley (Line of Duty's Adrian Dunbar) when he returns to the force as a consultant 18 months after an early retirement following a nervous breakdown after losing his wife and daughter. He assists DI Carol Farman (Bronagh Waugh) investigatin' murders and sometimes sings jazz at a club. I like it, but the show is comprised of 90-minute episodes, which PBS has chopped into two 45-minute episodes. Boooo! (But all are available now with PBS Passport.)

Elsewhere, Jesus walks into The CW, HGTV builds the DreamhouseJoe Pickett is shocked, A&E investigates Kids in a Cages, the Gemstones are blackmailed, and Wilt Chamberlain was a Goliath.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)
