Buffalo Bill Damar Hamlin was revived on the field January 2nd in Cincinnati after his heart stopped during a game with the Bengals. It was a combination of CPR and a defibrillator that put him on the path to recovery. He's been cleared to play football again but before he reports for training he's training others in the use of CPR and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator). [Cincinnati Enquirer]

Inter Miami paid a big chunk of money for the winning goal from Lionel Messi and it's a good bet that it's worth it. Messi is the top player in the world and people will pay to see him. It doesn't hurt that one of the team co-owners is David Beckham who once was in the position that Messi is in today. [Miami Herald]

Speaking of strong debuts, it's been a while since I've bragged on home town favorites. Sal Frelick was brought up to the majors, made a couple of catches, went 3 for 3 and drove in the winning run for the Brewers over the (ex-Milwaukee) Braves. [ESPN]

Brian Harman is still up by 4 in the Open and it's his to lose. But Jon Rahm had a remarkable day setting a personal best score of 63, best score at Holyoke and only one stroke off the best score ever in a major championship. That was good enough to pull him all the out of a tie for 39th up to 2nd place and within striking distance of Harman. Harman has been pretty unshakeable though. [CBS]

and doesn't he look cute with that trophy?

Well dammit there's more golf. Brian Harman powered through for the win. [CNN]
