Thailand may finally live up to it's reputation as the freest place in Asia, or the Senate might just overrule the will of the people. Either way, Pride will be celebrated and it will be a beacon of hope to the rest of Asia. [Guardian]

Incidentally, I'll be in South Asia this fall. We'll be in several countries that have poor to dreadful records on gay rights - Philippines, Brunei, Singapore - one unknown, Viet Nam - and one about as good as Asia gets, Taiwan. We're expecting to extend our vacation to Cambodia and/or Thailand. We really want to go to Angkor Wat but if Thailand becomes friendlier we might just change our plans.

I really wanted to run the guilty dog gif from yesterday but this guy is just a perfect illustration of himself. A dog could never convey that sense of white privilege.
