Everyone's playing this as the Supreme Court putting on their big boy and girl robes for a 6-3 decision that saves us from endless gerrymandering and the effective end of democracy. I see three liberal justices doing the right thing, three conservative justices preserving the power of the courts and three radically conservative justices who want to burn everything down. [NBC]

So democracy is safe. Or is it? The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security both had minimal preparations ready for January 6th despite the mountain of evidence of what was going to happen. It doesn't matter if our courts are clean (they are not) if the executive branch decides to let the mob in (shades of Andrew Jackson) all bets are off. [ABC]

Jack Smith's investigators are going to talk to Raffensperger. He's the Georgia Secretary of State that Trump made that "perfect phone call" to, demanding that Raffensperger come up with enough "votes" to swing the state of Georgia from Biden to Trump. Raffensperger is a Republican but he is not happy with Trump's demands at all. [CNN]

Trump valet Walt Nauta's arraignment has been delayed yet again because he cannot find a Florida attorney to represent him. I'm guessing that this is an abuse of the system to delay the presentation of evidence regarding the movement files at Mar a Lago and crimes in general. [Local 10]
