Texas AG Ken Paxton is finally facing consequences after about a decade of corruption. Even the Republicans in the Texas legislature are (at least pretending to be) shocked. He may have sealed his fate by calling for Republican Speaker Dade Phelan to resign for being drunk. [Texas Tribune]

The House Ethics Committee has cleared Rep. Eric Swalwell of charges after a two year investigation that was used as an excuse to keep him off of the House Intelligence Committee. This is a rerun of an investigation in which Swalwell was already cleared by Speakers John Boehner and Paul Ryan. Remember them? Just another stupid revenge tactic. [NBC]
