Biden is canceling most of his Asian and Australian trip because McCarthy and House Republicans want to sink the economy. Both sides have set negotiators to try and settle this. What I don't understand is why there needs to be any settling. This is Republicans demanding cuts to social programs that benefit seniors and poor and middle class people. There's no reason for this. The debt ceiling is not the budget. This is not the time for this. Republicans know this but they're willing to destroy us to get their way. The debt ceiling is just that. We're paying our bills.
