The US Supreme Court handed down some good decisions and one absolutely horrific one. On a 6-3 party-line decision the court determined that even when federal courts made mistakes and convicted innocent people, convicted people of something that's not a federal crime or sentenced someone for more than is allowed for the crime (including death penalties), no incarcerated person has the right to make a habeus corpus appeal. Clarence Thomas was assigned the decision so you know that it's even worse than it could have been. Brown Jackson wrote the dissent and Sotomayor and Kagen issued a concurrence with Brown Jackson.
