Oh, other things happened today. You might even care. But really it's Arraignment Day! Would you like to read the indictment? [Manhattan District Attorney's Office]

ETA: Janet Protasiewicz has been elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. This is great news for the entire country. Her opponent (Dan Kelly) was involved in the treasonous attempt to send false electors to the Electoral College. That attempt lost by one vote at the court. This will also give Wisconsin a liberal court for the first time in a long time. We're lucky to have a Dem Governor but the gerrymandered legislature routinely overturns his vetoes and the conservative court would rubber stamp whatever the legislature sent them.

Trump's troubles don't end there. Jack Smith doesn't just bother Trump because he goes by a common nickname for John. No, Jack has won an appeal of Trump's trying to block his closest aides from testifying against him. lt's unlikely for him to appeal to the Supremes on this. This case is far more serious than the hush money case. [CNN]

The Florida Senate passed a 5-week abortion ban. For those of you without ovaries, it's common for women to be unaware if they are pregnant and if they are then it forces them to make a rushed decision that is important to them. The GOP has a supermajority so this is going to pass in the House and DeSantis is going to sign it. [Associated Press]
