I've been complaining about the gradual destructiton of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel since Gannett bought them out. It turns out that Gannet buys newspapers with the purpose of driving them into the ground. I don't know what their plan for profit is. But they're killing local reporting. What good is freedom of the press if there's no press? [Nieman Lab]
Trans rights are up for grabs again, this time at the US Supreme Court. This would be a bad thing in the first place. No one should determine the rights of anyone else. But there's a supermajority that has been itching for something like this. And they are so excited to see this case that they don't want to follow the regular schedule and instead it's sitting on the express lane of the Shadow Docket. [Vox]
