Republicans are in an unpopularity contest. Kevin McCarthy is currently in the lead but Donald Trump is rising and Pence is like a hung chad (ask your parents). And Cruz is always in the competition. I was kind of looking forward to the possibility of a Gym Jordan Speakership because maybe the press would finally pay attention to his history and we could all blame The Ohio State University again. It's not a reversal of Dobbs, but the FDA has changed the labeling of Mifepristone to make it more easily available. There are still hurdles and hoops and state laws against access to the so-called abortion pill but it is a step in the right direction. Just a reminder: most of the abortion bans that kicked in after Dobbs was passed come from before women had the right to vote. [NPR]
