Santa's coming! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, December 24!
Our Top Pick tonight is the annual late night broadcast of Christmas Eve Mass (NBC, 11:29 p.m.). The 90-minute special program shows the pope leading mass from St. Peter’s Basilica. I've watched it a few times over the years because I find it soothing and calming.
Elsewhere, Hulu tracks Santa (invasion of privacy??), Dwayne Johnson is Adam, George Bailey wants to live again, The Recipe does a holiday edition, and Nat Geo has a Disney Wish.

🎥🎄 B&B Merry (GAC Family): Aaron Drumaí and Dolly Sue, the mayors of Pumpkin and Spice, have been dating for a year, and both think it's time to take their relationship to the next level. Dolly lives in a duplex in an affluent part of Spice. Aaron lives at his family's grand residence in Pumpkin. When he took over the family agriculture empire, he turned the residence into a B&B, though B&B also stands for Baba and Beth, his great-great-great-great-great grandparents, who first started farming gords in what would become Pumpkin Village. Aaron and Dolly wish to move in together, however, whoever has to move, means they will leave the town in which they serve. For Dolly, it is complicated because she is a new mayor without a legacy name; Spicers wouldn't like the young mayor who had big ideas to abandon them for their rival city. Aaron won't leave because the next election is less than a year away; if he leaves town, he must end his reelection campaign. The most famous couple in the province of Cinnamomum is quarreling – and their staffs are trying to keep it out of the press. The possible cohabitation raises flags with the feds, too. Joshua Tinsel, of counterintelligence, arrives to brief the duo, reminding them of the ordeal last year with the burning of the Pumpkin Christmas tree and civil unrest it caused when public opinion decided Dolly did it. Krampus has spies everywhere, ready to seed division. He names Dollys chief of staff, Scott Farkas, as suspect #1. The couple has hit a snag, unsure if their life ambitions and allegiances to the cities they love are greater than their love for one another.
🎥🎄 The Gift of Peace (Hallmark): Long, long ago, before the leprechauns landed, before the elves arrived, before the modern gnome had evolved... back when selkies were a common species and fairies outnumbered nisse, there was great conflict on the continent of Christmasia. Tales tell of a generations-long conflict between pixies and yetis, two species that found themselves fighting over resources in the middle of the continent many millenia ago. Back then, every type of evolved, intelligent creature was nomadic, and on the Middle Plains, the two dominant species were in a constant struggle, though the two shared little in common that should have driven a fight for resources. Yetis are giant, hairy beasts, even larger than the modern yeti, that feed on small animals and several plants. Pixies are small, petite creatures that mostly feed on the grasses and roots. Coexistence wasn't an option. And then came King Bass of the pixies, who in his 75th year of rule, was fed up with the war and sacrifice his people had made to keep the yeti at bay, so he offered a gift of peace to end their fighting. The continent's first real and honored boundary with an exchange of resources during the winter season.
📺💲 Match Game (FreeVee, now): The Gene Rayburn-hosted nighttime syndication series gets streaming treatment! The classic game show features contestants trying to match answers with a panel of celebrities by filling in blanks and answering silly questions/scenarios. The show was a game show staple for years. Charles Nelson Reilly and Brett Somers for life!
