There's a lot of new Christmas stuff today, and some of it looks pretty good (ymmv), but Alfred Molina is starring in a new murder mystery series based on a series of novels and you had me at "Alfred Molina is starring."

*One of those new Christmas offerings is yet another Christmas Carol adaptation on Netflix. This one is an animated musical and looks terrible (Why does Scrooge have a dog?) If you want a good musical version of this story, I suggest the 1970 version starring Albert Finney. I have it on Blu Ray.
*Another of the Christmas offerings is Christmas with the Campbells on AMC+. The storyline sounds like something covered by at least a few hundred Hallmark movies: city woman is dumped by douchebag boyfriend right before Christmas, is invited by his family to spend Christmas with them anyway, she falls in love with ex-boyfriend's hunky cousin. Said "hunky cousin" is played by Justin Long. That, my friends, is called a Christmas miracle.
*Amazon has a new series that seems to be going after Succession fans, except here the patriarch is already dead. I've never actually watched Succession, but I assume it's about rich people fighting over money and power. Isn't that what most stories about rich people are about?
I started watching Netflix's 1899 this week as it's from the creators of Dark, a show that I loved (although I didn't love the ending). It's a weird slog of a show and I haven't the first clue what is going on. I will keep watching because the central mystery intrigues me, but I'm not sure there's a single side story or supporting character that interests me at all. I'm three episodes in so I might as well finish the season, besides I need something on in the background when I'm folding laundry.
