What's On Tonight (Saturday): I can even get you to the Soul Train awards

Soul Train Music Awards

Happy Small Business Saturday! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, November 26!

Our Top Pick tonight is the 2022 Soul Train Music Awards (BET / VH1, 8 p.m.). The award show honors the best in African-American culture, music and entertainment with categories such as Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Dance Performance, and Collaboration to name a few. This year features some top names (Lizzo, Mary J. Blige, BeyoncΓ©) and some headscratchers (Chris Brown). Deon Cole hosts.

Elsewhere, there are many new Christmas movies to select from, Michelle Yeoh is Everywhere, Florence Pugh doesn't Worry, Quinta Brunson talks with Oprah, and CBS offers awards from TheGrio.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)

This Weekend in Pop Culture (9:30 p.m.): What pop culture have you consumed lately? This is our weekly thread for you talk about it.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

πŸ“Ί Doctor Who (Retro TV, 6 p.m.): A cultist prepares a scientist to be possessed and transformed by the ancient alien Fendahl.

πŸŽ₯πŸŽ„  A Tale of Two Christmases (Hallmark Channel, 6 p.m.): When King Ralph I was selected by the Royal Council as the Bummock monarch and the rule of House Noel began, it wasn't without conflict, though it didn't come to fruition until after the War of the First Noel. With the Kingdom of Bummock run by Noel and then Christmasia following its creation, the two decade-long civil war known as the War of the Trees started. It wasn't a continuous war but different houses continuously trying to lay claim to the throne – Frankincense, Willemite, and Calcite, but the House of Myrrh was the most dominant foe to Ralph I. While the house was the previously disposed royal family in Bummock, the house had royal ties in other nations, some of which were now a part of Christmasia, including Evergreen, Cinnamomum, and Min Gwaith. Ralph I must keep his friends close but his enemies closer as Melchior of Myrrh gathered allies and forces over the years to overthrow Ralph. It cost him a son who died battling Myrrh allies and years with a daughter who was held hostage.

πŸ“Ί Teletubbies (Amazon Prime Video / The Roku Channel, now): The revival of this children's series returned earlier this month after a 4-year break. The only thing I know about the original series, which is designed for toddlers, is that it might make your children gay. At least that's what the nation was debating once upon a time. I think.

πŸ•— 8 P.M. EASTERN / πŸ•– 7 P.M. CENTRAL

πŸŽ₯πŸŽ„ 12 Days of Christmas Eve (Lifetime): Santa gives a successful businessman 12 chances to relive the same day so he can repair his damaged relationships with his loved ones.

⭐ 2022 Soul Train Music Awards (BET / VH1): The annual celebration recognizes the best in Soul, R&B and Hip Hop from both established industry legends and the next generation of promising artists.

πŸŽ₯ Don't Worry Darling (HBO): Alice and Jack live in Victory, an experimental company town that houses the men who work on a top-secret project. However, when cracks in her seemingly idyllic life begin to appear, Alice suspects something sinister is lurking below the surface.✔️

πŸŽ₯πŸŽ„ Faith Heist: A Christmas Caper (Bounce TV): On Christmas Eve, Pastor Benjamin and his motley crew of congregants find themselves locked in the local mall just as a fearsome team of armed thieves breaks in to rob the place.

πŸŽ₯πŸŽ„ Haul Out the Holly (Hallmark Channel): Prime Minister Kris Kringle's affair many years ago that resulted in a child is now public knowledge. It is a scandal to say the least, and the family is laying low until the initial madness has softened. But not too long because campaign season is around the corner. Of those taking some time off is his daughter Cassie, stepping back from her public appearances as the leader of Godwink International. Her selected #2, Jimmy Noel, is late to his first event, a press conference, and to stall the annoyed reporters, the socially awkward Holly DrumaΓ steps up to the microphone. She is a hit, and the press in the room becomes obsessed with her. She finds herself in the spotlight and temporarily leading the public perception of an international nonprofit she had no intention of leading in any way. She comes with controversy within the org because of her unfiltered takes on current events. Her boyfriend also isn't a fan of being put in the spotlight. Drama!
