Reginald the Vampire |
Happy 11th anniversary WOT! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, October 12!
Our Top Pick tonight is one of the new vampire shows, Reginald the Vampire (Syfy, 10 p.m.). The comedy stars Spidey's BFF Jacob Batalon as the title character, a young adult who becomes a vampire to save his life, but it's not a life he knew he was signing up for. He also doesn't fit the vampire model of fit and slim, which will cause riffs in the elite and snobby vampire community. It's an okay show. It has a sharp POV and synopsis but generally lacks the bite in comic and terrors of the night.
Elsewhere, Big Shot gets a second shot, Chucky is out for blood, Barney the dinosaur gets docuseries treatment, Jeremy Lin gets short documentary treatment, The Conners find a new relative, Stargirl and Cameron are sitting in a tree (K-I-S-S-I-N-G), Archer wraps season 13, and kids love Abbott's principal.

Andor (Disney+, 3 a.m.): Maybe the whole plan will be put into action this week.
Big Shot (Disney+, 3 a.m.): SEASON TWO. Marvyn's latest plan toward relevance is to get his team broadcast on ESPN, and his method is to recruit an unlikely player: Sara Echeagaray, a gutsy beach volleyball phenom whose public tantrum got her ousted from her own sport. Between losing their assistant coach to a rival school, new friction amongst teammates, a sudden and unexpected proximity to boys, and off-the-court disasters that no one could've predicted this season, the Westbrook Sirens have even more to prove.
The Handmaid's Tale (Hulu, midnight): June and Luke's mission puts them in serious jeopardy. Serena senses a threat from her benefactors. Lawrence and Nick make a shocking power move.
πΊ He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (Amazon Prime Video / Starz, now): The children's show about He-Man's battles against the evil forces of Skeletor marked a pivot in the cartoon syndication market got a decent revival in 2021, and the original run that comprised of 2 seasons of 65 episodes each is still mostly rewatchable.
I Love You, You Hate Me (Peacock, 3 a.m.): LIMITED SERIES. "Follow Barney the dinosaur's furious reaction and what he says about the human need to hate. Something in American society was broken and never came back, or is it just who we were all along?" Barney remains one of the worst things PBS has aired.✔️

Tell Me Lies (Hulu, midnight): Pippa has complicated feelings after Wrigley meets her dad. Lucy makes a decision to protect Stephen.
