What's On Tonight (Sunday): Step Up to premium TV

Step Up

The points do matter! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, October 16!

Our Top Pick tonight is the return of the television continuation series Step Up (Starz, 9 p.m.). The dance drama, set at an Atlanta performing arts school, started on YouTube before being axed when it pivoted away from scripted programming. Starz saved it. However, we enter season 3 without Naya Rivera, who died in 2020, as Collette. Christina Milian now takes on the role. New to the cast are Tricia Helfer and Enrique Murciano.

Elsewhere, Chesapeake Shores departs, Vampires welcome Claudia, the Right One searches for a cure, the SEALs mistrust, Marge Simpson produces daytime TV, Daryl 'n Carol go searchin', Miss Scarlet reteams with Duke, Family Guy gets hypnotized, Nicola Walker is Annika, and Jeopardy begins semi-finals.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)

Cancellation League (3 p.m.-ish): There will be points, but you know, in a given week, most shows bring you no points.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

60 Minutes (CBS, 7:30 p.m.): The families of the victims found in the mass grave behind St. Andrew's Orthodox Church in Bucha, Ukraine... The world's largest offshore wind farm, in Grimsby, England... College football coach Deion Sanders.

📺 The Hardy Boys / Nancy Drew Mysteries (NBC, now): While the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew exist separately today, they once shared a timeslot. This late '70s wheel series can be hit and miss on an episode-by-episode basis, but the Nancy Drew is still one of my favs with Pamela Sue Martin in the title role and William Schallert as dad plus Jean Rasey as the best George. Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson as the Hardys seemed more candy casting, but the sets and visuals were tops.

Interview with the Vampire (AMC+, 3 a.m.): Louis and Lestat raise Claudia as a vampire; Claudia learns the dark reality of her vampirism. (Last week's episode: AMC, 10 p.m.)

Malory Towers (BYUtv, 7:30 p.m.): The girls wreak havoc in Mam'zelle's class after receiving a surprise package from Alicia. Darrell prepares for the lacrosse trial.

The Walking Dead (AMC+, 3 a.m.): Daryl and Carol search for their disappeared friends. (Last week's episode: AMC, 9 p.m.)
