What's On Tonight (Saturday): I ain't afraid of no Ghost

Ghost Hunters

Any questions?! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, October 29!

Our Top Pick tonight is the long-running paranormal spooks docuseries Ghost Hunters (Travel Channel, 9 p.m.). The supernatural-seeking show is currently in its 15th season and on its 3rd network, but it is also back to a sturdier form with some original hunters returning in this latest incarnation. This Travel Channel season is its first on the network. Last year it was Discovery+-first.

Elsewhere, Jack Harlow pulls Live double-duty, an Airbnb house is full of Barbarians, Parker McCollum is at the City LimitsFletch is suspected of murder, and Omarion does Magic.

📺 Doctor Who (Retro TV, 6 p.m.): The Master plans to restore his life force by disrupting a power source that'd destroy Gallifrey and the Doctor, who is currently companion-less.

The Hair Tales (Hulu, midnight / OWN, 9 p.m.): Ayanna Pressley

🕗 8 P.M. EASTERN / 🕖 7 P.M. CENTRAL

🎥 An Amish Sin (Lifetime): Refusing to marry the man who abused her as a child, an Amish teen runs away to a neighboring city and tries to adjust to life in the modern world.

🎥 Barbarian (HBO): A young woman discovers the rental home she booked is already occupied by a stranger. Against her better judgment, she decides to spend the night but soon discovers there's a lot more to fear than just an unexpected house guest.

🎥🎄  Catering Christmas (GAC Family): Hermey, the new governor of Husnisse, is preparing for his province's annual ball where power players can rub elbows with the government bigwigs. For Hermey, a former dentist, it will be a balancing act. The nisse-dominated province has always elected someone with all or nearly-all nisse blood until his election – he is half-nisse, half-elf. Nisses are also natives to Christmasia, unlike elves, gnomes, and most other Christmasia beings. He might have won the vote, but he had many dissenters. Working the event is the National Macaroon's Catering Company, which wasn't properly vetted – so much of Hermey's staff is new to such lofty positions – as it works both sides of the War on Christmas. CEO Frank Shirley is a Krampus sympathizer and constantly turns a blind eye when new hires have little experience but are highly recommended by his hiring staff. The Koal Federation's Harry Liime has done a marvelous job of filling the company with spies. Now he can get eyes inside a top-level Christmasia event. As long as his agents – Peter, Earl, Alice, Burton – don't give themselves away to the last-minute, not-so-undercover Christmas counterintelligence, this will be a big payoff to undermine an entire territory.

Finding Happy (Bounce TV): Yaz's co-worker Chanel books It's Ya Girl Yaz for a designer's flagship launch, and encourages Yaz to try a bold new look for the big event. D-1 Media execs tell Porter that Princess Charles needs more development, which is good news for Yaz.

🎥🎄 Jolly Good Christmas (Hallmark Channel): Holly Jolly, chief curator at National Christmasia Institute, gives us an in-depth look at the founding of Christmasia with a look through old documents and first-hand accounts of people who were there as Jack Frost, Alabaster Snowball, Dasher I, Rubbels, and the elder statesman Julenissen gathered together and attempted to form the Kingdom of Christmasia in the bloody aftermath of the War of the First Noel. It took months of talks, but Christmasia was finally formed. Jolly will also tackle one of the biggest questions: Was Julenissen’s death – 3 days before the formation became official – the crux that made the nation possible or was it already a done deal before his death? While Julenissen is abundantly popular today, he had numerous naysayers in his day, especially in the regions dominated by native Christmasians – nisses, pixies, yetis, etc.

In this episode, "a scientist tries ancient brainwashing techniques on captured Burke." The show died quietly against Sanford and Son and Chico and the Man.
