What's On Tonight (Wednesday): In mankind's darkest hours, America failed

The U.S. and the Holocaust

May the Force be with you! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, September 21!

Our Top Pick tonight is the finale of the latest Ken Burns (& Co.) documentary The U.S. and the Holocaust (PBS, 8 p.m.). The third night covers the war years during the United States' involvement and how the public reacted to learning what was happening, although clues were long there. This is an ever important story, showing that there were plenty of signs in American media of the Holocaust and what was happening/would happen in Europe, but the vast majority of Americans were more interested in closing the door to most immigrants. Even those in desperate need. Learn from history so it's not repeated.

ElsewhereAndor takes off, Tell Me it's Christmastime, Abbott Elementary preps for the school year, Arches needs better health care coverage, Chicago is One again, some Conners go on a honeymoon, Murray Goldberg is dead, HBO examines the exit from Kabul, and Jeffrey Dahmer gets adapted for the small screen.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

The Game (BET+ / Hulu / Paramount+): This long-running Girlfriends spinoff about a group of Black women who date athletes was on much longer than I give it credit for. After 3 years on The CW, it aired for 6 more on BET, and the cast changed plenty. Star Tia Mowry-Hardrict left early and Brittany Daniel and Coby Bell left only to later return. A reboot with Hosea Chanchez and Wendy Raquel Robinson, who stuck with the show for its entire run, is set for a November debut.

The Handmaid's Tale (Hulu, midnight): June and Moira join a rebel outpost. As a pregnant widow, Serena tries to restore her status. Aunt Lydia questions her strict methods of dealing with Handmaids.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (Netflix, 3 a.m.): LIMITED SERIES. Evan Peters is the Milwaukee Monster because Netflix loves serial killers to a very unhealthy degree.

Reservation Dogs (Hulu, midnight): With a letter from Daniel, Willie Jack seeks guidance from the past.

Shadowland (Peacock, 3 a.m.): LIMITED SERIES. "Investigate conspiracy theories and explore the life-changing impact they're having on supporters and those caught in the crosshairs, to discover whether truth as we've known it can survive in the 21st century."

Super/Natural (Disney+, 3 a.m.): SEASON ONE. "Using the latest scientific innovations and filmmaking technology, the powers and super-senses of the world's animals will be revealed, inviting viewers to experience the natural world as a specific species does." Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch.

Tell Me Lies (Hulu, midnight): Lucy and Stephen go home for winter break and deal with family tension.
