What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Back to school

Abbott Elementary

I'll be a duck! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, September 28!

Our Top Pick tonight is the Emmy-winning comedy Abbott Elementary (ABC, 9 p.m.). The school-set mockumentary proved an underdog at the Emmys and picked up two big (and unexpected) wins in supporting acting and casting. Now year 2 at this inner-Philly school begins for Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and William Stanford Davis. I thought it had a good but uneven freshman season. Last week's season premiere was excellent.

Elsewhere, the Handmaid wants revenge, there are supply line troubles at MedThe Mighty Ducks return, the Resident Alien meets his greatest enemy, Ana de Armas is Marilyn, the Goldbergs have a baby on the way, GameStop gets docuseries treatment, Nova will save Venice, and HBO remembers the Iran hostage crisis.
