The funeral was better than expected today. The priest started his homily with a parable (from China) about a grieving woman. She asked someone wise how she could relieve her grief and was told that she should get a mustard seed from a house that had never known grief. She went to the richest mansion in town and asked if there was grief. There was a long list of grief and she helped as she could. She went to another house and another house and everywhere she found grief and everywhere she offered aid. She didn't stop. She never got her mustard seed. But her grief was eased. And so was every else's whose lives she touched.
