What's On Tonight (Saturday): To the Farmer

John Mellencamp at Farm Aid 2021

Don't worry, be happy! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, September 24!

Our Top Pick tonight is the broadcast of Farm Aid 2022 (Circle, 7 p.m.). The annual concert, which benefits American farmers, will feature Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, Margo Price, Chris Stapleton, Sheryl Crow, Lukas Nelson, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Brittney Spencer, among many others. I enjoy seeing the crowd shots and looking for anyone who isn't white.

Elsewhere, Lifetime has some killer movies, autumn romance is in the air TV movies, Bounce wants to get HappySNL throwbacks to the '90s, Yashahime mustn't feel sad, One Piece won't stand for those that make kids cry, and Lupin sees bubbles.

This Weekend in Pop Culture (9:30 p.m.): What pop culture have you consumed lately? This is our weekly thread for you talk about it.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

πŸ“Ί Avatar: The Last Airbender (Paramount+ / Netflix, now): Despite bad behind the scenes press -- the creators of the original series departed this remake -- and a budget that will make it one of the most expensive in TV  history, Netflix's live-action of the excellent animated series is still moving forward. I'll probably always take the original series, which follows a young boy reawakened to undertake a quest to fulfill his destiny as the Avatar. The Old Country even covered the show.

⭐ Farm Aid 2022 (Circle, 7 p.m.): Live from North Carolina! "Hear inspiring farmer stories with performances by Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, Margo Price, Chris Stapleton, Sheryl Crow, Lukas Nelson, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Allison Russell, Charley Crocket, Brittney Spencer and more." Circle will also stream the concert and events throughout the day on its social media channels.

Red Election (Ovation, 7 p.m.): Beatrice now knows that Katrine is part of Redback. She confronts her, but Katrine has information that makes Beatrice astonish.

πŸŽ₯ Revenge for My Mother (Lifetime, 6 p.m.): Audrey teaches postnatal fitness to a group of moms who bring their baby strollers to the park, but when her recently hired assistant secretly starts exacting revenge, Audrey's perfect world erupts into madness.

WHAT ELSE IS ON
πŸŽ₯ Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Alchemy (Netflix, 3 a.m.):
Little Women (Netflix, 10 a.m.)

πŸ•— 8 P.M. EASTERN / πŸ•– 7 P.M. CENTRAL

πŸŽ₯ Dying for a Crown (Lifetime): Lifetime states the movie is about becoming a homecoming queen, but I prefer to think it is a thriller about how Princess Anne plans to eliminate her brothers and their families so she can take the British throne.

Finding Happy (Bounce TV, 8 & 8:30 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. "It tells the story of Yaz. She feels stagnant in her life, and on her 36th birthday, she makes a decision to create change in her life and find her own happiness."✔️

πŸŽ₯ Fly Away with Me (Hallmark Channel): When Angie moves into a building where no pets are allowed, a parrot arrives unexpectedly. New neighbor Ted and the dog he's secretly sitting try to help her find the bird's owner without being caught. It turns out the parrot is a sibling to Mrs. Gambolini. And TWIST: the love story is between Angie and the parrot.

πŸŽ₯ A Royal Seaside Romance (GAC Family): "When the seaside town of Shaw Bay is under threat of a redevelopment, realtor Erin will do anything to save it." Hashtag white people.

πŸŽ₯ Svengoolie (MeTV): Gargoyles

πŸ•˜ 9 P.M. EASTERN / πŸ•— 8 P.M. CENTRAL

πŸ“Ί Our Miss Brooks (Decades): This early TV sitcom goes weekend binge treatment, even though I don't see how anyone could watch multiple episodes in a row. The radio show is really good. The TV version recycles soooo much material. In this episode, "Miss Brooks is on high alert when a female photographer catches the eye of Mr. Boynton." She really wants to bang Boynton.
