What's On Tonight (Tuesday): Steve Carell Wants an Emmy

Tonight's Top Pick is the premiere of The Patient, starring Steve Carell as a widower therapist whose new patient is serial killer Domhnall Gleeson. Somewhere down the line, Steve gets captured, which I guess is a good way to break up the monotony. I just can't shake the sense that this is Steve's awards bait.

Let's see what else TV has to offer us for Tuesday, Aug. 30. All times are EST.

STREAMING
The Patient, 12:01 a.m., FX on Hulu. Premiere. "Intake" and "Alan Learns to Meditate." "Dr. Alan Strauss, a therapist mourning the death of his wife, takes on an enigmatic new client. A gathering sense of not being alone leads to a revelation about the house." Two episodes available.
