What's On Tonight (Sunday): Dead might never die

Tales of the Walking Dead

One week to Cancellation League! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, August 14!

Our Top Pick tonight is the series premiere of the latest in the Walking Dead franchise Tales of the Walking Dead (AMC+, 3 a.m. / AMC, 9 p.m.). This new title is an episodic anthology with each episode centered on a different character(s) — some new, some familiar. The guests include Anthony Edwards, Terry Crew, Parker Posey, and Samantha Morton. This episodic format is exactly how I've been pitching my World War Z series for the last 15 years.

Elsewhere, it's Valentine's in The ChiEvil demons infest a house, Westworld sails off, a bishop is in the Colosseum, Tuca embraces astrology, Grantchester might've gotten it wrong, Chesapeake Shores is calling, BBC America does a one-take movie, and Power is still Raising Kanan.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

Blood & Treasure (Paramount+, 3 a.m.): "Mystery at Poison Island"

Evil (Paramount+, 3 a.m.): SEASON FINALE. "The team investigates a household terrorized by a demonic infestation and is shocked when they find out the house is next door to Kristen's. Meanwhile, Kristen is surprised to learn that her frozen egg was never destroyed and purchased anonymously which leads her on a new adventure." Ew.

πŸ“Ί Justified (Hulu, now): Like some other 2010 shows, this critically-acclaimed drama about U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) hasn't been off the air for that long. The sequel, Justified: City Primeval, filmed this summer, so now is the chance to revisit Raylan and all the bad guys he faced off against in his 6 seasons on the small screen -- including beloved character actress Margo Martindale in her first Emmy-winning role.

⭐ Tales of the Walking Dead (AMC+, 3 a.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. An episodic anthology that will follow individual characters from the The Walking Dead TV universe, both new and old. (Episode 1 airs at 9 p.m. on AMC)

πŸŽ₯ Sister with a Secret (Lifetime): All those times she couldn't hear you because she had earbuds in were a lie. She was never listening to music. She just didn't want to talk with you.
