What's On Tonight (Saturday): Children battle things that go bump in the night

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

I declare this meeting of The Midnight Society closed! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, August 6!

Our Top Pick tonight is the teen-targeting supernatural/horror anthology Are You Afraid of the Dark? (Nickelodeon, 7 p.m.). The third season of this second reboot ventures in a new but more typical-of-our-era direction. Instead of an episodic series, the show spends its (short) third season following a single group of characters. The stories are a little more upbeat toward the end, but the show still aims for spooks.

Elsewhere, an Election turns Red, Belfast is in turmoil, Africa gets Wild, the Straw Hats depart, Nazis are at the Bottom of the Sea.
