I snorkeled today. First we went to a pristine white sand beach where I was reminded that the sand is parrot fish shit. The parrot fish eat coral for for the parasites inside it and grind up the coral into sand. Then snorkeling. It was easy at first because we just followed the current around Kicker Rock. Tons of fish and sea turtles and an octopus, one very frisky sea lion. No sharks or rays but I've seen them before. Okay, they have hammerheads here and I've never seen one of those. Then we went through a channel inside the rock and there was a strong current against us. I'm a strong swimmer but I got about 2/3 of the way through the channel and realized that I was in a wave pool. No matter how hard I pushed, I stayed in the same place. I called for help and the entire group had to turn around. I felt terrible until we got back on the boat and just about everyone else felt the same way. I was just the one who wasn't afraid to ask for aid.
Oh, buried the lede. There's BOOBIES! on them there rocks.
