Waukesha County school boards continue their rush to the bottom. Kettle Moraine school district has banned anything Pride related under it's policy of not displaying "partisan politics, sectarian religious views, or selfish propaganda". It's not partisan. It's not religious. So it must be selfish propaganda. Oh, we should have fun with this one in court. I'm not sure which circuit they are in but they're going to wind up in Madison or Milwaukee where they will go down in flames. If the Supremes are smart (they are not smart) they will not take up the case. If the Supremes support the school board it's going to be even more difficult to elect on another far right wing justice. Dobbs has already got voters riled up. Go after LGBTQetc. and people of color know who they're after next. [CNN]
Should racially gerrymandered legislators be allowed to introduce legislation to continue racial gerrymandering? The North Carolina Supreme Court says no. The white legislators who benefitted from racial gerrymandering cry foul. Obviously they are afraid of free and fair elections. [WRAL]
Walmart isn't about to go progressive. Yet they have an interest in keeping employees (not that they'll actually pay them well or treat them well). They've expanded their health coverage to include very limited abortions. More importantly, they include travel insurance to another state if they can't get the procedure locally. [CNN]
Oh yeah, the world could end at any minute. That would have been scary as recently as 2018. Now? Just another day. [CNBC]
